Passive MASW processing

Hi. I have recorded data (velocity time histories) using a circular and an L-shaped array in passive MASW testing. I want to process it using SPAC and fk method and generate dispersion curve. i seached for tutorials on the website and youtube videos and followed whatever I found. Still, there were s...

Re: Stacking of shots

Thanks Marc. However, when I am generating dispersion images, the dispersion images from 2 different shots are coming in 2 different windows and they are not getting stacked together. How to get multiple dispersion images in a single window so that we can stack them? I have a separate notepad file f...

Stacking of shots

Hello.
I have velocity time histories of 10 shots for 24 geophones from MASW testing. How to generate a dispersion curve in Geopsy by stacking the 10 shots?

Harmonic Vs average profiles

Hello. I used the command in the format: gpdcreport file.report -best 100 | gpprofile -average-at 30 > out.txt. The purpose was to get Vs30 for the top 100 Vs profiles with the lowest misfit. I used this also for other depths such as 5 m, 10 m and 20 m. Now, what I want is Vs (average) profile up to...

Vs average up to bedrock depth

Hello. I have calculated Vs30 or average Vs up to certain depth using the commands -average-at <DEPTH>. For example: gpprofile -average-at 30 your_ground_model_file gpdcreport file.report -m 0.1 | gpprofile -average-at 30 > out However. I have 10,000 Vs profiles after inversion, each having a differ...

Vs models from inversion showing different values from parameterization

Hello. I did inversion in DINVER. For that run, i have attached the file of Vs models after inversion(best 100 models) and the .param file. In the parameterization, for all layers, the bottom depth was kept 2.2 to 24 m, still the inversion results show some layers having depth beyond 24 m. Why is th...

Thanks for your reply.
I wrote the command as you have written, but it showed this error:

Output from multiple runs in Dinver

Hello.
I have 200 runs in a Dinver files, each with a different target but same parameterizations. I want -gpprofile of lowest misfit from each run. Currently I am giving -gpprofile command 200 times, each for a single run. Is there any shorter way for doing that?

Re: Opening .report file

Thank you for the prompt reply. I could find it. Actually the Vs profiles generated from both are there (60000(Ns0+Ns) was there in each case and in this I got 120174 Vs profiles). However, I want to separate them out because I want lowest misfit profile from each of them separately. Is it possible ...

Opening .report file

Hi. With which software can .report file be opened? I ran inversion and run_01.report file was generated of size about 79000 kb. However, by mistake, I again ran run1 and the file got overwritten, now having size of around 159500 kb. How can I check whether the results of earlier inversion are also ...

Re: gpprofile for -average-at-30

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I am using the latest 3.4.1 Geopsy and DINVER but the MSYS is of older version, so probably due to that, this is occurring. But, when I installed newer MSYS version, it showed some issues. What can be done?

Plot 500 Vs profiles with minimum misfit

Hi. In DINVER after inversion, the option view-ground profiles plots Vs profiles up to a certain misfit value. However, if we want to plot certain number of profiles of lowest misfit, (for example, top 500 Vs profiles having the lowest misfit value), how to do that? What is the 'minimum index' and '...

Tuning parameters in inversion

Hi, As per the earlier versions of Geopsy, The tuning parameters of the neighborhood algorithm are the initial number of models ns0, the number of new models ns, and the number of cells nr. The last two steps are repeated N times, resulting in a total of ns0+N*ns models. However, in the newer versio...

Inversion by equal logarithmic wavelength intervals

Hello. In DINVER, is it possible to view the input dispersion curve in phase velocity-wavelength domain (logarithmic)? And more importantly, is it possible to sample it at equal log wavelength intervals prior to inversion? I am asking this because as per Socco & Strobbia (2004), a uniform sampli...
