I'd also be interested to find out about the licence status of DISPER80 in order to include it into ObsPy (www.obspy.org). However I could neither track down Saito nor Doornbos (the editor). Quite strange.

Hi Marc, Sorry for my latish reply. I just saw that you were discussing to include Saito's code into dinver in a separate thread. As this code can also handle liquid layers you could kill two birds with one stone. I further found some remarks on this problem in Aki and Richards (2nd edition; Chapter...

water column
Hi Marc,
I was trying to invert dispersion curves from an oceanic region. However, dinver gets stuck when the S-velocity of the first layer is set to zero. Is there any way that dinver can handle a water layer at the top?
Cheers,
Yannik

swim
Hi Marc,
I saw the new feature "swim" in the last snapshot that I downloaded (src-2.1.0-snapshot-20100616). It sounds quite interesting but I couldn't figure out how to use it. Does it work already and if so, what kind of input does it require?
Cheers,
Yannik

gptarget usage
Hi Marc,
I was wondering if there's a possibility to add weights to a measurement point of the dispersion curve (as you can do in the dinver interface) without directly adding the xml file.
I couldn't find anything on that in the gptarget help.
Cheers,
Yannik

Importance sampling
Hi Marc, I already asked a similar question before, but maybe in the wrong context. I couldn't find any documentation on the importance sampling neither on the web nor in your thesis. The way I used the importance sampling was by adding a new run, setting RunType to 'Importance sampling' and then st...

importance sampling
Hi Marc and Mathias, I couldn't find any documentation or forum entries on the importance sampling apart from this one. Does it the same thing that Malcolm Sambridge does with his NA_bayes code (evaluating bayesian integrals using the Neighbourhood algorithm)? If so, how are the results stored in th...
