Download Qt sources

Build steps

Untar the archive:

 tar xvfz qt-x11-opensource-src-4.4.3.tar.gz

Configure Qt:

 cd qt-x11-opensource-src-4.4.3
 ./configure -prefix /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.4.3

Accept the license offer GPLv2 or v3. Running the configuration script takes at least a few minutes. Compile Qt:

 make

Log in as 'root' to get permissions to write to /usr/local/Trolltech:

 su

Once logged in as 'root':

 make install
 exit

 sudo make install
