Clip pop-up window

Clip, reached from the Waveform menu, clips the signals in the active signal viewer above a given value. By clicking on Clip, a pop-up window asking for the number of standard deviations above which the signal should be clipped.

In case of a gaussian noise, 68%, 95% and 99.7% of the samples are in between plus/minus 1, 2 and 3 standard deviations, respectively.

This option is useful to remove outliers (Dirac) produced by low-quality digitizers. However, it may strongly affect the signals.

Clip creates new temporary signals in the active viewer.
