[ask] spectrum method

Hello,
I have question about the spectrum method on geopsy.
I want to get range frequency data from time series (not the peak), so i use geopsy to run fft (spectrum toolbox). Then i need to know, if there is rule of windowing the data? length window ? number of window ? .
I am not sure whether this method has the same rules as hvsr.
And I read about dydac (2^n) rule, on which menu i use input my dydac rule ?
